Heh Modo did u read these rules that they are enforcing?

They cannot be serious ! I think they need to revise these rules, because as I read them, they seem to be geared more for real cars than what we're racing.

Example 1:
STAGING
Once a car reaches the front of the staging lanes for a run, it must
be prepared to fire and race. To be a legitimate race winner, a
contestant’s car must self-start and self-stage. This rule also
applies to single runs. Push-starting or push-staging any vehicle is
prohibited. Staging must be done under the vehicle’s own engine
power. If the opponent has been sent on a single run, the car
losing fire may not restart, and the run is forfeited.

So our cars must self start and if it shuts off we cannot restart it and the run is forfeited???????

Example 2:
TRANSMISSION
All cars and trucks in competition must be equipped with a reverse
BRAKES
Brakes on each car, regardless of class, must be in good working
order with four-wheel hydraulic brakes as a minimum requirement.
FLOORS(Pete)
All cars without floors must be equipped with floorpans made of steel
or aluminum that must extend the full length and width of the driver
compartment to the rear of the driver’s seat. Cars equipped with
floors or belly pans made of fiberglass or other breakable material
must have metal subfloors.
APPAREL
Each member of a participant crew must be fully attired when
present in the staging, starting, and competition areas of the
racetrack. Shoes are mandatory. Shorts, bare legs, tank tops, or
bare torsos are prohibited when driving in any class.
BODY
Body must be on NHRA Accepted Bodies list.
Customizing, chopping, channeling, etc. permitted, but must retain
full-bodied appearance with minimum 2 functional doors. Doors
must open and close from inside and outside. Glass may be
replaced with Lexan or other shatterproof material, minimum
thickness 1/8-inch. Side windows need not be operative, but must
be in fully closed position for run.

U see my point ! If they are following NHRA rules and enforcing them then I guess nobody will be racing this season !

Suggestion from an "OLD TIMER" who doesnt know what they're doing, please read an revise the rules !

I think NHRA rules are just a guide line I don't think all those rules apply to 5th and 6th scale 2 stoke model car racing. If you look at some of the videos from last year at FBF. I saw guys starting there cars on the line, tunning on the line, running with lexan/polycarbonate bodies off and more. We can run by NHRA rules, Some of It just needs to be edited to fit model car needs. There's a post floating around already with engine restictions, estrellainc made a good post describing race classes. IMO It'll come together before race day.

I would say revised rules need to be enforced, especially If there's a registration fee, point system and prizes of value involved. Everyone needs follow some sort of guide line In order for It to be fair.
