Does anybody run a full 330' track length for drag racing? It would be great to see 1/4 scale drag racing running longer than a 1/10 scale track. Also, anybody know of a club doing track preparation that keeps these cars planted during a run?

Justin, we only run on a 330ft track here in NY.
Look around on the site and you will find a ton of pictures and videos.

Welcome to the site and enjoy!
Pete

I didn't realize until now it was a club website. Found some pics, great looking equipment! Nice track too with full length. Thanks!

Hey Justin,
IMDRA is growing fast with 1/4 cars... We only run 132' but,,, these cars are very exciting to watch. The et is around 2.6 sec at 54 mph...
I think there are some vids on you tube from our rockingham race...

From what I've seen in a few videos, you wouldn't want to run any further because there seems to be a lot of skating around? Are the 1/4 scale cars running hard rubber slicks or foam like the 1/10? If foam, are they prepped with traction compound before a run? yikes that would be a lot of goop. I hate that stuff.

Justin,
in the miami area we run from 450ft to 600ft side by side w/ no skating (do to the fact that most ppl around here run top end). now we dont have a track set up like the NYC boy, I wish then maybe I could get these guys to run 330ft, if you want to see 5th scale cars doing high speed side by side passes youtube (doral drags) or (tropical drags) both locations are more than 400ft

Yes , the track is prepped with vht and you have to use goop... Slicks won't work because of the accumulated goop from the 1/10 scale cars...

I was just on your website the other day checking out what changed in 1/10 world. Didn't see any pictures of the 1/4? Did you get one from Mike Ogle? Those are pretty nice.
I'm sure there will be plenty of vacant areas cropping up in the next decade, but there were two lots on our way up to the old Andover track in '99 that were for sale. Although now the one looks to be too short for 1/4. The other probably has enough room for 700'. I'd like to put a permanent track in. Just a dream for now. Here's the two spots.
Link 1.

Link 2.

I can't think of any existing parking lot space. Half the fun for me has always been the realism of the track, the cars, etc.

Finally figured out the search. Wow, that's pretty awesome! That's pretty neat you ran it at BIR. How did the foam work with the rubber/vht? Really nice chutes, very high level of detail.

It actually worked better on the return road next to the track. It was pretty windy, and by the time I was up there sand was all stuck in the vht and made it slick.
