When it comes to drag racing, ever oz you can remove from your car will help you.
Being we don't run for hours upon hours, the size of the battery don't matter.
Well, on the other hand, it does, the bigger the MAH pack you buy, usually the heavier it is, most onroad track guys don't run anything more then a 2500 or 3000 pack for that reason.
Last season, I decided to make my own pack, using 5 AA rechargeable 2400mah batteries, after completion, you'll notice a big drop in weight and the battery has lasted me all of last season without fail.
All it takes is a little work with a solder gun, some wire and time, after completion you can wrap the battery with black electrical tape.
This will save you alot of weight over one of the standard packs.
I have used these batteries for 2 hours of run time with no problem.
Any pointers, just send me an email if you need.
Good luck
