| Hey All, Just thought I would let you know of my little project....A full afterburning 1/4 scale turbine powered Jet Dragster. A few specs for you: Length is ~2.30meters, weight 12kgs, idle rpm 35,000rpm, max engine speed 125,000rpm, exhaust gas temp ~650c, thrust including afterburner is ~19.5kgs. So far it has been clocked at 203.56kmh but this was over a 200meter run at my local drag strip. Enjoy. G'day from "down-under",
The car isn't real quick, it's just fast at the top end, she doesn't leave the line all that hard, but has plenty of mumbo when the air starts coming in..!!
I have done a measured scale 1/4 (100m), which was timed at 6.137secs @ 181.46kmh. Like I said, not quick, but definitely fast..She's a bit of a handfull to steer too, the jet just wants to push the rear end around..
Cheers, Smithy. |

| i was watching the video thinkin... is he gonna whoop out a stick and toast marshmallows? seriously, how many years ago did you first think of this project? i mean, its not the kind of thing you can put together in just under a week. getting all the parts together alone takes careful planning. betcha already seen this vid from 2008... |

| Hey Guys, Had a chance to give the little dragster a run the other day, only ~80% rpm and a short run but it'll give you an idea at least..Enjoy. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Cheers, Smithy. |
