| I see a lot of 1/5 scale cars set up for drag racing....why don't you guys have Bob S. build you something like that prostock truck pan style( but belt drive)... I assume it would be a little less money for a rolling chassis.. and you keep the 1/4 scale theme going....with lots of bodies to choose from....
I'm not trying to upset anyone, just simply asking...

| Wow,very nice....I still feel that someone should offer a 1/4 pan type drag car chassis to bring in new racers... But...sounds like your offering some nice stuff.... |

| Yes, I do agree with you...but...if every part needs to be machined...more hours to build = more cost...
What would it cost if Bob built one, without a jackshaft....and would there be a better price if your club bought 10 of them....
What about that guy Art, is he still building cars...His rail had a chain and no jackshaft, that thing was dam fast...I saw it run at FBF around 6 years ago...I think he may even be in guiness for the worlds "quickest crutches"..hee,hee |

I have the flat frames or pan designed.1/5 and 1/4 scale.Prostock,Funny car,and Top Fuel. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The tube frames are more realislitic. They will catch the eye. They won't get the market where we all would like to see it.
If you want the hobby to grow. It's time to change the thinking. Why sell one or 2 cars a year. For big bucks and the hobby don't grow.Sell cheap and more the hobby will grow.
Look at the ovals. They might incorperate the HPI 5B as a new class.A lot cheaper car more of them on the market. The 1/4 scale big bucks less cars.
Selling in quanity you make more money.Prices come down everyone wins. The guy who wants to race or collect. Then the manufacture.
I am not picking on anyone on here.Just stating the facts.
I guess who needs to flame at me it's ok.I can take it.

| Hell, If that car sells for 2000.00 dallors Ill switch hobbies to basket weaving...Its a piece of freakin aluminum bent twice . That had to cost aleast 20 dallors... Im kind of partial to my funny car anyways.. But In my opinion .. The heart of 1/4 SCALE IS WELDED TUBE CHASSIS. And guys like me that have the means and know how to weld these frames up will always be partial to tube frames... There just more realistic. On the other hand a piece of aluminum bent up to make a pan chassis may be right for mass producing in the market but I think will fall short in the 1/4 scale world... They do seem to do ok in the fifth scale world thou Adding some CNC WORK to a tube frame makes it awesome. But , a pan frame and CNC parts to me is almost like any 5th scale car out there. Befor you know it youll have a complete CNC car and the cost will be out of this world... Now, Quarterscale ProStreet Berreta.....He builds a serious freakinnnnnn 1/4 scale car.... Thats where it needs to be at.....There is not one project out there, including mine that touches he car....Pure awesome Keep the pans in the kitchen...Check and Mate [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I think there would be a huge market in turning al those 5th scale pan cars in to tube chassis. |
